Former Call of Duty pro Temp arrested on domestic violence charge in Texas

Former Call of Duty League pro Donovan 'Temp' Laroda has been arrested in Texas on a domestic violence aggravated assault charge.

The 27-year-old, who has competed for several major Call of Duty franchises, was named in an Irving Police Department incident report dated October 14, 2026.

The report indicates a warrant was issued for domestic violence aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, a second-degree felony under Texas law.

Police records show officers initially responded to a possible domestic incident before the call became a welfare check.

The report states: "Call for a possible domestic in progress, became a well fare check. Reportee arrived on scene and provided further information which led to the authoring and issuance of a warrant for Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault causing SBI."

The incident was reported at approximately 4:08am on October 14.

The report also lists a Glock 17 handgun and two magazines as property held for safekeeping. However, it does not indicate whether the firearm was connected to the alleged assault.

No further details about the alleged incident, including the circumstances surrounding the reported injuries, were provided in the publicly released report.

A Facebook post from "Irving Arrests" includes a mugshot.

Under Texas law, a second-degree felony carries a potential prison sentence of two to 20 years and a fine of up to $10,000 if convicted.

Temp is one of the most tenured names and faces in the Call of Duty esports scene. He was an active competitor for around a decade, flying the flags of organizations like Envy, Splyce, the NY Subliners, LA Thieves, and Paris Legion.

He dropped out of the CDL midway through 2023 after failing to gain much traction for years and moved into the COD Challengers circuit.

Since mid-2024, he has almost exclusively worked in coaching roles, most recently for Telluride Bush Gaming in the Call of Duty Challengers scene.

Bush Gaming parted ways with Temp mere weeks before this incident occurred.

On social media, Temp's mugshot appeared on a page that exists to circulate information about people arrested in and around Irving.

It also offers the disclaimer under Temp's mugshot: 'An arrest is not a conviction. All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.'
