Halo fans have submitted personal stories of their first encounters with the series and lifelong fandom as part of the #Halo25Together community celebration.

One fan recalled being introduced to Halo: Combat Evolved in 2001 by an older cousin.

"I'll never forget holding the Xbox controller and hopping out of the cryopod as the Master Chief," the fan wrote.

Another fan remembered being handed a controller at age two to play with uncles who were avid fans.

Many submissions detailed childhood experiences with specific games and missions.

One fan described being too scared to continue past the "343 Guilty Spark" mission in Halo: Combat Evolved due to The Flood, only conquering it years later without guides.

Finding the novelization Halo: The Flood in a pawn shop was a highlight for another, who was ecstatic to read a scene that mirrored their own gameplay.

The launch of Halo 2 left a lasting impression, with one fan recalling "the award ceremony, Sergeant Johnson, the UNSC ships moving to defend Earth" as moments still vivid today.

Halo 3's opening mission was described as amazing, with a fan noting the jungle, colors, sounds, and cutscenes after trading for the game at school.

Halo: Reach became a gateway to competitive multiplayer, clans, and online tournaments.

"It was my favorite multiplayer mode," one fan said of Invasion.

The atmospheric jazz and crime-noir tone of Halo 3: ODST hooked another player from the first moments.

Fans expressed playing every title in the series, from mainline games to spin-offs like Halo Wars and Halo: Fireteam Raven.

"Halo has grown with me, and I know I will keep returning to it as I grow older," one 24-year-old fan wrote, noting they still own and display the original Xbox.

Excitement was also voiced for the upcoming Halo: Campaign Evolved, seen as a chance to relive childhood with modern visuals.

"What I am most excited for are the prequel missions," the fan added.

For many, Halo represents family and shared experiences.

One story detailed a father giving a copy of Halo: Combat Evolved 21 years ago and playing co-op, while another fan was introduced by an uncle during a Christmas vacation.

That introduction led to a four-player PvP session lasting ten hours and eventually convincing parents to buy the game.

The fans later discovered they received their copy on March 7, the in-universe birthday of Master Chief.

Playing through The Master Chief Collection with siblings fostered a competitive spirit, with one fan citing a second-place finish in a Halo 3 Snipers match with 171 kills as a career highlight.

The fan closed their story by addressing a rival: "MasterReach, I know you're out there, and I will get revenge."

Another fan claimed fame as one of the "Final Few" and the last Elite to play Halo 2 before its original servers shut down, alongside collecting nearly all Halo books, games, and merchandise.
