Modern Warfare 4 Details Dual Prestige Paths and 1,000-Level Progression
The new Call of Duty title introduces two distinct Prestige tracks and a Prestige Master system extending to level 1,000.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will offer players two distinct Prestige progression paths and a Prestige Master system extending to level 1,000.
Upon reaching the standard level 55 cap, players can choose between a Classic Prestige track that resets their rank and unlocks or a Regular Prestige track that preserves unlocked content.
"Whether you prefer the traditional reset-and-rebuild structure of Classic Prestige or a more flexible progression path that preserves unlocked content, both systems deliver long-term rewards, progression milestones, and new ways to level up across Multiplayer and beyond," the development blog stated.
Players who select the Classic track will earn a Permanent Unlock Token each time they enter a new Prestige level, allowing them to permanently retain one item like a Perk or Killstreak despite the rank reset.
The blog noted that players should prioritize unlocking Perks, Field Upgrades, Killstreaks, and Equipment over Weapons with these tokens, as Weapon Blueprints acquired from the store or Battle Pass permanently unlock the base weapon.
Modern Warfare 4 will feature 10 Prestige levels, each themed after a different past Infinity Ward title, with unique rewards for both tracks.
Prestige 1, inspired by the original Call of Duty (2003), grants a "The Vet" Weapon Blueprint for the Mosin-Nagant Marksman Rifle on the Regular track and a "The Vet Prime" variant on the Classic track.
Subsequent Prestige levels offer rewards like the "Calm Resolve" or "Trench Fiend" Calling Cards at Prestige 2, inspired by Call of Duty 2, and the "Ghosts Legend" or "Ghosts Legend Prime" Operator Skin at Prestige 6, inspired by Call of Duty: Ghosts.
After completing all 10 Prestige levels, players enter Prestige Master, where they can progress from level 56 to level 1,000.
Rewards in this phase include the "Paragon" Operator Skin for the Park operator at level 56, new Level Color customization options starting with Orange, and additional legacy Prestige icons from past Call of Duty games unlocked every 25 levels.
Players reaching the maximum level 1,000 will attain the status of Prestige Legend.
The blog also detailed the separate progression systems for Multiplayer and the DMZ mode.
Multiplayer progression runs from level 1 to 55, unlocking Weapons, Equipment, Perks, and Killstreaks, while DMZ features its own distinct 70-level track rewarding Gear, Station Upgrades, and Operator Skins.
XP earned in DMZ contributes to the overall 1-55 player progression, but XP from Multiplayer or Warzone does not count toward DMZ levels.
Redington Cybersport reported earlier this month that new guides detailed the DMZ's Hajin Exclusion Zone and Forward Operating Base.
Modern Warfare 4 level unlocks will become accessible in Call of Duty: Warzone when Season 1 launches shortly after the game's release.
