Modern Warfare 4 Launch Maps and Modes Detailed Ahead of October Release

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will launch on October 23 with 12 core 6v6 multiplayer maps, three large-scale 32v32 Ground War maps, four 2v2 Gunfight maps, and a modular battleground called Kill Block.

The infamous small map Shipment will arrive shortly after launch on October 27, set on a Russian harbor with a classic layout enhanced by Modern Warfare 4's visual and gameplay improvements.

The core 6v6 maps include a covert armory on the outskirts of a French rail terminal, an attacked lithium processing refinery in rural Mexico, and a scarred South Korean fishing village.

Other 6v6 locations are a fugitive's hideout in a dense residential district, an active North Korean command facility, and a South Korean ferry pulling away from a conflict zone at dawn.

Players will also fight in a South Korean reactor complex undergoing a meltdown, on the snow-lined rooftops of New York's "Hotel Times West," and at a Russian military base under whiteout conditions.

The final core maps are a dense urban South Korean shopping district and an overgrown central parking lot in western India packed with derelict buses.

The three Ground War maps are set in and around Hajin, featuring a rural outskirts area with open fields and a mill, a dense urban environment centered on Wolves Stadium, and a wooded hillside called Forest positioned between the farmlands and the stadium.

The four Gunfight maps are a scenic courtyard in Paris, a wood-paneled state library, a wintry downtown area with a large stage, and a rail yard with train cars and warehouses.

The Westbridge Training Facility, known as Kill Block, is a modular battleground featuring reconfiguring combat layouts with more than 500 combinations.

"Designed as a live-fire training environment, Kill Block reconfigures between rounds, forcing players to reassess sightlines, routes, and combat spaces," the intel notes state.

Some map sections are entirely new, while others draw inspiration from iconic locations across Modern Warfare history including Crash, Highrise, and Shoot House.

Kill Block supports 3v3 and 10v10 Gunfight at launch.

Modern Warfare 4 will launch with over a dozen multiplayer modes, including Standard, Alternate, and Hardcore variants, plus a Mobility Course designed to help players master the movement system.

Hardcore rules include a limited HUD, friendly fire, and reduced health with no regeneration.

New modes include Inflation, where players eliminate enemies to collect cash, with those reaching a High Value Target threshold having their position revealed.

Eliminated players drop a portion of their cash, and an Overtime in the final minutes sets up bigger cash multipliers, with the team holding the most cash at the end winning.

Another mode, Data Spike, has teams fighting for control of a single Data Spike to carry to the enemy Comm Station, planting it to score points over time and earning a bonus for a completed upload.
