LOUD Eliminates Global Esports from Valorant Champions 2026

LOUD eliminated Global Esports from Valorant Champions 2026 with a 2-0 victory in the Group B decider in Shanghai on October 4.

The Brazilian team won Split 13-8 and Sunset 13-9 to secure the group's second playoff spot, joining Team Vitality in the knockout stage.

Global Esports, the VCT Pacific first seed, finish their first Champions appearance tied for 9th to 12th place with a 1-2 series record.

"The loss stings a little more because Sunset was one of the two maps GE won against EDward Gaming two days earlier," one report noted.

LOUD's in-game leader Roberto "erde" Lobos was the best player on the server, finishing the series with a high of 46 kills and a 1.56 rating across 43 rounds.

Global Esports had a strong start on Split, leading 8-5 and standing five rounds away from taking the map.

LOUD won eight consecutive rounds to close the map 13-8, a run that swung the momentum of the entire decider.

The Brazilian squad carried that momentum straight into Sunset, winning the first seven rounds.

GE took nine of the next 15 rounds to make the scoreline respectable, but the early 7-0 deficit against an experienced team like LOUD proved too much to overcome.

LOUD closed the second map 13-9 to seal the series.

Global Esports came to Shanghai after winning the VCT Pacific Stage 2 title, coming back from 0-2 down to beat Nongshim RedForce 3-2 in the grand final.

Their best moment of the week came on October 2, when they swept EDward Gaming 2-0 to send the 2024 world champions home.

LOUD, the 2022 Champions winner, had a bumpy group stage, following a 2-0 win over EDG with a 0-2 loss to Vitality.

The second map of that loss went to overtime before Vitality closed it 19-17 on Summit.

The victory puts four VCT Americas teams in the top eight: LOUD, 100 Thieves, NRG and G2 Esports.

No Chinese teams advanced, as all four were eliminated in the group stage of their home event. Redington Cybersport reported in September that all four Chinese organizations lost their opening series 0-2.

Seven of the eight playoff spots are now locked.

The final spot will go to the winner of the Group A decider between T1 and FUT Esports.

The playoffs begin on October 7 at the Jing'an Sports Center in Shanghai, featuring a double-elimination bracket.

Every series is a best-of-three, except the lower bracket final and the grand final, which are best-of-five.

The Valorant Champions 2026 grand final is scheduled for October 18 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai.
