Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 'Override' Ends November 1, Next Season Expected Shortly After

The current Fortnite season, 'Override,' is set to expire on November 1, 2026, with the next season likely to begin within a day or two.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 'Override' Ends November 1, Next Season Expected Shortly After

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, nicknamed "Override," will end on November 1, 2026, according to the battle pass expiration date listed on Epic's own page.

That timestamp runs on Eastern Time, so players in parts of North America may see the pass lock out the evening of October 31 instead.

Based on Epic's pattern across the last four seasons, a new season should begin within a day or two of Override's shutdown, most likely on November 1 or 2, 2026.

That is a forecast built from Epic's own transition history, not a confirmed release date.

Epic has not posted an official start date for whatever replaces Override, which is exactly why "when is the next Fortnite season" keeps climbing the search charts.

Epic typically drops its first teaser or countdown screen inside the game somewhere between one and two weeks before a season ends, and as of this writing no such countdown has gone live for the post-Override transition.

"Epic rarely confirms a season’s start date more than a couple of weeks ahead, and the company tends to tease a new theme through cryptic loading-screen art or a short in-client cinematic before it ever posts a calendar date," the reporting notes state.

"That habit is exactly why a reliable fortnite new season countdown is hard to build from official sources alone."

The next cycle will not be "Season 7" under any reasonable numbering, as Chapter 7 has produced four seasons since it launched on November 29, 2025.

The next one in sequence is Chapter 7 Season 5, unless Epic decides to close out the chapter early and jump straight to Chapter 8.

Both outcomes remain open until Epic says otherwise, and anyone budgeting time or V-Bucks around a specific date should treat every forecast in this piece, including Epic’s own historical pattern, as a best estimate rather than a locked calendar entry.

The phrase "when is the next Fortnite season 7" pulls over a thousand monthly searches, which puts it well ahead of more accurate queries like "Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 5 release date."

Part of the confusion traces back to Fortnite’s own numbering history, as Epic has reset season counters at the start of nearly every chapter, recycled narrative arcs, and occasionally skipped a number during a rebrand.

No verifiable, time-stamped post from a named leak account spelling out an exact date for the season that follows Override had surfaced as of October 19, 2026.

Readers should treat any specific date circulating on social media right now as unconfirmed speculation until it links back to Epic’s own in-client countdown or an official blog post.

The relative quiet heading into the post-Override transition suggests either Epic has tightened its internal file security for this cycle, or the bigger leaks simply haven’t broken yet as of this writing.

Chapter 7 has run four seasons back to back since its launch, and the pattern in those dates tells its own story.

The opening season, Pacific Break, launched Chapter 7 with a new island built around the aftermath of the Zero Point storyline, and Epic gave it 110 days to breathe, roughly three and a half months.

Showdown followed with a Foundation-versus-Ice-King narrative, fresh points of interest, and a rival credits system, trimming the cycle to 78 days according to Fortnite3’s season archive.

Runners held at 76 days, and Override has run the tightest cycle of the chapter at 73 days.

That steady shrink, from 110 days down to 73, is the clearest evidence that Epic settled into a roughly ten-to-eleven-week rhythm.
