Ubisoft to Shut Down Rainbow Six Mobile in January 2027
The mobile shooter will remain playable until Jan. 15, with its next season still launching as planned next week.

Ubisoft will shut down its mobile tactical shooter Rainbow Six Mobile on January 15, 2027.
The development team announced the decision on October 8, calling it a "difficult decision." The game will remain available until the shutdown date, and the next season will be released as planned next week.
"The game will remain available until January 15, 2027," Ubisoft said in a statement. "The next season will be released as planned next week."
Rainbow Six Mobile first entered a soft launch in 2023 before its worldwide release on iOS and Android on February 23, 2026. The development team noted that players helped shape the game across 15 seasons since the soft launch.
"Bringing the Rainbow Six experience to mobile has been an exciting journey, and we are proud of the passion, creativity, and dedication our team has put into the game," the team said.
The announcement expressed gratitude for the community, highlighting memes, videos, strategies, tournaments, and plays created by players. "One of the greatest parts of this adventure has been getting to experience it alongside you," the team said.
The development team will now transition to other long-term strategic projects. Ubisoft said it will share more updates in the coming weeks so players can prepare for the transition.
Specific reasons for the shutdown, the exact closing time, and policies regarding purchases, refunds, and in-game currency were not disclosed.
The game was first announced on April 5, 2022, and underwent years of testing before its global launch. It featured iconic maps, operators, destructible environments, and a 5v5 Attack vs. Defense model from Rainbow Six Siege.
Rainbow Six Mobile recorded around 6.75 million downloads in its first 30 days after its global launch. The game's most recent season, Operation Concrete Impact, launched in early September, and a partnership with PAYDAY brought new cosmetics at the end of that month.
Ubisoft's announcement comes as the company shifts resources to other projects like Rainbow Six Siege and the recently announced Rainbow Six Tactics.
