BLAST R6 Major Osaka to be held in Japan in November
The 20-team tournament will be Rainbow Six Siege's first international event in Asia since 2019 and offers a final chance to earn Six Invitational points.
Rainbow Six Siege will host the BLAST R6 Major Osaka in Japan from November 6 to November 15, marking the game's first international event on Asian soil since 2019.
The tournament will be the third international event of Year 11, following the BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City and the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026.
It offers teams a final opportunity to earn SI Points to qualify for the Six Invitational 2027, for which only back-to-back world champions FaZe Clan have secured a spot so far.
The event will feature 20 teams, with eight competing in a play-in stage from November 6 to 7 for four spots in the Swiss Stage.
Twelve teams will qualify directly for the Swiss Stage, which runs from November 8 to 11.
The Swiss Stage will start with a high-paced first day as all teams will play two BO1 games.
In Day 2 of the Swiss Stage, most teams will already be playing for promotion to the playoffs or to avoid elimination.
In Day 3, all teams will be playing for either promotion or elimination.
Finally, Day 4 will dictate what are the final teams to reach the playoffs and what teams are sent home.
The playoffs, featuring eight teams, will be held from November 13 to 15 in front of a sold-out crowd at Osaka's ATC Hall, a venue with a capacity of up to 3,600 people.
The playoff bracket uses a single-elimination format with BO3 matches, culminating in a BO5 grand final.
The tournament format is not any different to the one used at the BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City.
The BLAST R6 Major Osaka prizepool is divided into two; economic prizepool and SI Points.
The last Rainbow Six Siege international event in Japan was the PL Season 10 Finals, held in Tokoname in November 2019.
