Fortnite Birthday Sprites Launch September 26 With Boosted Spawns
The five new Sprites, shaped like cake slices, will debut during a six-hour Power Hour event celebrating the game's ninth anniversary.
Epic Games has confirmed five new Fortnite Birthday Sprites will be added to the game on September 26, 2026.
The new sprite variant will make its debut during a special Battle Royale Birthday Power Hour celebrating the battle royale's ninth anniversary.
The Birthday Sprites will be enabled in Fortnite starting at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET, with players having a total of six hours to try to collect them all during the Power Hour.
While the Birthday Sprites are making their debut during the event, they will not be limited to September 26 and can still spawn in the game after the Fortnite birthday bash.
However, if you want to collect all five Birthday Sprites, this is likely your best chance, as the new variant will have boosted spawn rates for six hours this Saturday.
Unlike other Sprites that take the shape of or resemble some character or creature, the Birthday Sprite is shaped like a slice of cake.
There are two primary ways to get the Birthday Sprite in Fortnite: searching rare chests and entering Cheat Codes.
The best way to get the Birthday Sprite in Fortnite is by searching rare chests, which can be found primarily in Temple Vaults located under the Mega Maze Landmark and Stone Sanctum POI.
We also recommend searching for the Birthday Sprite in and around Fortnite Birthday Cake locations, as the spawn rates in these areas could be higher.
If you have some of the rarest Sprites in Fortnite, you can trade them with friends for the Birthday Sprite at secluded locations on the island, provided you have a Fortnite Extraction Gizmo ready.
Another method to get the Birthday Sprite involves eliminating players who have one and claiming it for yourself.
The Birthday Sprite in Fortnite gives you the chance to get Cake Slices when opening chests, which increase as it levels up, and at maximum level, each elimination also spawns Cake Slices.
To level up the Birthday Sprite in Fortnite, you need to do tasks such as searching chests, entering Cheat Codes, and extracting other Sprites.
However, if you're using the Birthday Bounty Hunter Sprite in Fortnite, you can only level it up by eliminating other players.
Once you get it to maximum level, you won't have to worry about healing items in the late-game, as each Birthday Cake Slice restores 20 health or shields.
There are a total of five Birthday Sprite variants that you can find as of Fortnite update 42.20, including the base version, which is the most common.
On top of its base form, the Birthday Sprite can also be found in all other Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 variants, including the recently released Bounty Hunter variant.
The Birthday Sprite is of "Rare" rarity, which means it has a pretty high spawn rate, suspected to be around 4% or higher for the base variant.
Gold and Fortnite Cheat Master Sprite variants of the Birthday Sprite are going to be harder to find.
With there being a total of five variants to collect, you could find all of them over the weekend and get closer to completing your collection.
