Five Nights at Freddy's Joins Fortnite for Fortnitemares 2026
Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria will be a new map location with four animatronic bosses when the Halloween event starts on October 1.
Epic Games has confirmed that Five Nights at Freddy's will be part of Fortnite's Fortnitemares Halloween event.
"It's almost showtime!" Epic announced. "The Fazbear Band has taken over Battle Royale. Face the animatronic animal bosses and survive the night… if you can. Fortnitemares begins 1st October!"
A new trailer formally confirms that Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria will appear as a location on the map, with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy all featuring as bosses that players can take on in a fight.
The crossover had been expected for a while, with the pizzeria itself appearing on the island during Fortnite's Override season, and recent Fortnitemares hinting at security cameras and FNAF dialogue.
The annual Fortnitemares 2026 begins on October 1.
The skins for the animatronic bosses appear to be reactive and take damage during the match, which could be a way to include the withered variants.
All four animatronics look fantastic, and the teaser for the crossover is creepier than anything that's come out of FNAF in some time.
Over the past few months, Fortnite has been granting quite a few long-requested collaborations, especially when it comes to video games, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Kingdom Hearts, and Mega Man in the Override season.
Fans have been wanting a Five Nights at Freddy's collaboration for a really long time, and Epic has very obviously been gearing up for it.
Ever since Fortnitemares first started being teased, it's been apparent that Five Nights at Freddy's was going to be involved somehow.
That was guessed from the pizzeria clearly being on The Island during the Override season, but the Halloween event teasers referenced it plenty, from the use of security cameras to some choice dialogue.
It is honestly one of the more impressive collaborations that Epic has done for Fortnite recently.
Over the summer, Epic Games settled a court case against a contractor accused of leaking Fortnite information.
Former contractor Hayden Cohen agreed to a judgment that bars them from "possessing, accessing, using, or disclosing any of Epic's confidential or trade secret information", including a ban on providing confidential information to other third parties, too.
Fortnite is available on Android, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and iOS.
