Apex Legends Players Can Build Their Own Weapon TTK Calculator

A tutorial explains how to assemble a Python project to calculate and rank weapon time-to-kill using in-game stats from Season 30.

Apex Legends Players Can Build Their Own Weapon TTK Calculator

A new tutorial details how Apex Legends players can build a custom Python project to calculate weapon time-to-kill and create their own meta rankings.

The guide, which takes roughly 60 minutes, walks through assembling a small offline project using five scripts and CSV files to process in-game weapon statistics.

"A tier list is only an opinion about numbers you now collect yourself," the tutorial states.

The project uses stats from the Playground tab, which Respawn added to the lobby on Season 30's launch day, showing weapon and attachment statistics.

Players are instructed to record body damage per bullet, rounds per minute, base magazine size, and reload time for each weapon, first without attachments and then with their preferred attachments.

The core calculation defines time to kill as the time between the first bullet leaving the barrel and the last bullet that finishes the target, matching the convention of published calculators.

The tutorial notes that time to kill depends on the assumed shield level, accuracy, magazine capacity, and whether a gun has a charge or heat phase.

It advises players to verify changes from the Season 30 launch and the September 14 midseason patch before building their rankings.

The launch changes, which included nerfs to the R-99, Alternator, RE-45 and Hemlok and the removal of energy ammo from loot, are described as defining most of the current meta.

The tutorial also flags that Corrupted Attachments can change a weapon's magazine size and handling, meaning a gun can have two different stat lines.

It cautions that some reports, like the 30-30 Repeater moving into care packages, should be treated as unconfirmed and checked against in-game loot tables.

The project requires no third-party packages or API keys, using only Python's standard library.

Players must first confirm the Playground tab is visible in their lobby, as it is hidden in some game modes.

The tutorial's example code creates a function to calculate time to kill based on hits to kill and shot interval, but intentionally excludes logic for charge times, heat ramps, and hop-ups, advising users to note those phases separately.

"EA does not publish an official weapon tier list, and no official TTK calculator could be confirmed this week either," the tutorial notes.

Season 30 launched in early August 2026 and runs through November 3, according to the BoostRoyal season tracker.

Respawn said in its September 10 designer notes that Season 30 caused a major weapon-meta shake-up and that it would tune conservatively afterward.

The guide builds on a similar concept for analyzing legends. Redington Cybersport reported in October that a tutorial showed how to build a custom Apex Legends tier list calculator for legends using Season 29 data.
