Early Life and Introduction to CS

Danil Kryshkovets was born in Tomsk, Russia, on January 25, 2007. His journey into Counter-Strike began at the age of four, introduced to the game by his brother. Two years later, they moved to the newer version, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

From this early start, Danil dedicated significant time to honing his skills. His commitment paid off when, at just 14 years old, he qualified for the competitive European FPL-C circuit, an early sign of his talent.

Rise Through Team Spirit Academy

In 2021, at the age of 14, Danil's potential was spotted by scout Aleksey 'OverDrive' Biryukov. Biryukov recommended him to the Team Spirit academy system, marking the official start of his professional path.

He spent the next two years developing on Team Spirit's youth roster, refining the aggressive and impactful playstyle that would later define his career on the global stage.

Breakout Year and First Major Triumph (2024)

Danil's promotion to Team Spirit's main roster in 2023 yielded immediate success, with the team winning their first two tournaments together. His true breakout came in 2024. He secured his first HLTV MVP award at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2023, becoming the second-youngest player to earn the honor.

The year was defined by a series of historic achievements. At IEM Katowice 2024, he became the youngest MVP of a Big Event, tying the event rating record of 1.70 previously set by NiKo in 2017, and doing so across more maps. Despite a playoff loss at his first Major, PGL Copenhagen 2024, he finished with a strong 1.35 rating.

He then won the MVP at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 even as his team took second place, a clear demonstration of his individual brilliance. Team Spirit closed the regular season by winning the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024, with donk as MVP, securing the top spot in global team rankings.

The top moment arrived at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, where Team Spirit won the championship. Danil was named MVP, making him the youngest-ever Major champion and MVP. He set the record for the highest Major MVP rating at 1.49, surpassing s1mple's 1.47. In the three-map final against FaZe Clan, he recorded a 1.67 rating, the highest ever by a rifler in a Major final. He also set the record for most aces at a Major with four.

To cap this year, he swept the HLTV Awards, winning Rookie of the Year, Opener of the Year, Highlight of the Year, and the prestigious Player of the Year. At 17 years and 352 days old, he became the youngest HLTV Player of the Year in history, joining coldzera and ZywOo as the only players to win the award in their first full professional year.

Sustained Excellence and Record Chase (2025)

Donk continued to set benchmarks in 2025. He and Team Spirit started the year by winning BLAST Bounty Season 1 Finals, earning donk his seventh career HLTV MVP. After a period of challenge against a dominant Team Vitality, Spirit won PGL Astana 2025, a Tier 1 event Vitality did not attend, granting donk another MVP award.

In July 2025, he completed his fifth consecutive season atop the global FACEIT matchmaking leaderboard, having placed first in every season since CS2's release. He finished that fifth season with 5,283 Elo, over 400 points ahead of second place while maintaining his tier-one professional schedule.

Team Spirit bounced back from a playoff loss at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 to win IEM Cologne 2025, sweeping rivals MOUZ 3-0 in the grand finals. This earned donk his ninth career MVP. They immediately followed this with a title defense at BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals, where donk won his tenth HLTV MVP, tying GeT_RiGhT's record for most MVPs as a rifler.

Although Team Spirit finished third at the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, donk recorded a 1.57 rating across nine maps, setting a new record for the highest rating at a Major. Despite posting the highest raw statistical output ever recorded in HLTV's top 20 rankings for the year, he finished second behind ZywOo, with HLTV citing ZywOo's greater number of MVP awards and deeper playoff performances. Donk still won the HLTV awards for Opener of the Year and Highlight of the Year for 2025.

Becoming the Most Awarded Rifler (2026)

After nine months without a Tier 1 event win, donk broke the drought at PGL Astana 2026, defeating Team Falcons 3-0 in the playoffs. The HLTV MVP award from this event was his 11th, making him the most awarded rifler in history, surpassing the previous joint record of ten held by GeT_RiGhT and NiKo. He recorded a 1.61 rating, the second-best at any CS2 Big Event by an MVP after his own rating at IEM Katowice 2024.

Later in 2026, he earned his 12th HLTV MVP at the Esports World Cup, recording a 1.50 rating. This made him the joint-fourth-most decorated player in Big Event MVPs with nine, alongside NiKo. Around this time, at 19 years and six months old, he became the youngest player to surpass $1 million in career prize money in Counter-Strike history, beating the previous record held by b1t.

He won his 13th career HLTV MVP at BLAST Open Porto 2026. This was also his 10th Big Event MVP, overtaking NiKo's total of nine. During this tournament, he became the first player to record 20 aces at HLTV MVP-caliber events in Counter-Strike 2, surpassing ZywOo and NiKo who had 18 each. In one match on Cache, he performed an ace where he dealt 500 damage without receiving any, only the fourth such instance ever recorded at an HLTV-caliber event.

In August 2026, he finished first on the FACEIT leaderboard for a sixth consecutive season. During Season 8, he set an all-time record-high Elo on the platform, reaching 5,513.

Playstyle and Legacy

Danil 'donk' Kryshkovets is defined by an aggressive, high-impact rifling style that consistently delivers spectacular highlights and opening kills. His ability to single-handedly swing rounds has made him a central figure in Team Spirit's tactical approach. Statistics like his record number of aces and his consistent top ranking in both official matchmaking and professional ratings reflect a player who excels in every environment.

He is already remembered for a collection of 'youngest-ever' records, from Major champion to HLTV Player of the Year. Beyond age-related milestones, he holds significant statistical records for ratings at Majors and Big Events. As he continues to add to his tally of MVP awards, which already leads all riflers, and tournament victories, he is established as one of the most dominant and exciting riflers in the history of Counter-Strike.
